Thank You Jesus

Tuesday, 30. March 2010 18:44

Good evening. Thank you for all your prayers. This afternoon I had to drop a bomb and let 2 boys I have been mentoring the last couple of years know that they were going to be leaving their home for the next 3 months and go to a “Safe Families” home. Thanks to the Safe Families for Children organization and an awesome, Christ centered family from Newport Beach who are willing to take the boys in as one of their own and allow time for the boys and their family to heal. I am leaving out the family’s name to respect their privacy but please pray for salvation, healing, mercy, redemption and grace for their family. God is so good.

Boys if you are reading this I am so proud of you today and how you have handled this situation. God is going to protect and guide you through this time. Make sure to support, communicate and love each other as brothers. You are awesome young men.

Taking back the “Airways”

Sunday, 28. March 2010 17:36

I have had an awesome day of reading the Word, reading The Happy Intercessor by Beni Johnson, praying and just sitting quietly listening. In my reading of The Happy Intercessor in chapter 7, page 101 entitled “Airways”, Beni talked about “Those who own the airways control the atmosphere. The airways are the spiritual climate over a city. It is our responsibility to take ownership of the airways and reclaim the atmosphere”.

I really took this to heart and spent some time taking back the airways over Southern California and specifically Orange County. There is a very real invisible world around us that does affect our visible world. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this week. I encourage you all to take back the airways in your city and region.

Now that I have freaked some of you out have a good rest of your evening. The weather in Orange County is unbelievable. If you are reading this right now you are all prayed up for the week.

Book Recommendations From Michael Tang

Friday, 26. March 2010 16:04

Click here to watch Michael’s testimony.

I found that when I first became a Christian and was in the church for years, I had many misconceptions and false understandings of the gospel, of how I should have a relationship with God, and who God is. The following books corrected many of these misunderstandings and ultimately helped me have a more accurate understanding of Jesus Christ and the Christian life.

The Gospel According to Jesus: Today, the gospel is being watered down, sugar-coated, and ultimately altered in a way that gives people the impression that being a Christian costs nothing and requires no sacrifice. Many people in America say that they are “Christian” but do not live a life that reflects the lifestyle that Jesus calls us to. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ “Pastor John MacArthur exposits multiple parables and sermons by Jesus in the the four gospels and sheds light on the narrow road that we must walk to follow Christ. The book proposes that “If Jesus Christ is not Lord of all in your life, then he is not Lord at all”.

Desiring God: The pursuit for happiness is not an option. It is essential. The common goal in every human being’s life is happiness, and sadly many (even some Christians) search for their happiness in all the wrong places (relationships, success, comfort, luxury, entertainment, etc). Pastor John Piper shows us in this book that God seeks His glory over His creation and how we (His creation) glorify Him the most when we are completely satisfied and joyful in Him. Christianity is not about do’s and don’ts, but rather being joyful and completely happy in seeing and savoring Jesus Christ.

The Holiness of God: God has many attributes that we study and discuss today such as his love, grace, and mercy. One area that is often neglected is His holiness, and R.C. Sproul emphasizes in this book that above all attributes, we must consider His holiness which sets God apart from us. It is His holiness that exposes our sin (Isaiah 6:1-6) and it is His holiness that makes God transcendent in all His glory.

Let the Nations Be Glad: “Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship does not. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.” Pastor John Piper provides insight from all throughout the Scripture the ultimate goal and mission of God. It is truly exhilarating and enlightening.

Psalm 91

Wednesday, 24. March 2010 18:39

Good evening peoples. I have been sitting around the last couple of hours thinking about all the heavy things that are going on around me on a daily basis and across the world. I wanted to update my site but I had no idea what the Lord wanted me to say. When I post something new I never want it to be forced so I just sat in my lazy boy chair and kept reading, praying, and sitting quietely.

Psalm 91 kept coming to mind so I opened up my NASB Bible and started to read. I read the first couple of verses and said yes this fits exactly what I had been thinking about the last 2 hours. I encourage you to read the entire chapter below, or open your Bible to Psalm 91 and read or if you do not have a Bible go to www.BibleGateway.com and read it online.

Sometimes my fleshly mind forgets that God is my refuge, my fortress, my shield and I do not have to fear anything because I know he will deliver me. With that said all the “big things” that I was thinking about become rather small as I remember that you Father God are the Creator of the Universe and hold everything in the palm of your hand.

Father God thank you so much for the Bible which is true and living. Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die on the Cross for our sins and sicknesses. Thank you that you are at work all across the world right now. I pray for more signs, wonders, and miracles in North America and across the planet so people cannot deny who you are.

Stand strong everybody. God is at work. Let’s join in!

Psalm 91

Security of the One Who Trusts in the LORD.

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”

3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
Or of the arrow that flies by day;

6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.

7 A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But it shall not approach you.

8 You will only look on with your eyes
And see the recompense of the wicked.

9 For you have made the LORD, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.

10 No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.

11 For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.

12 They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.

14 “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.

15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.

16 “With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.”

Book Recommendations

Monday, 22. March 2010 17:02

What’s up! Every so often I am going to post book recommendations from a broad variety of people. You know how it is. Whoever you talk to always has a book they recommend you should read. The following books have touched my walk with the Lord in heavy and amazing ways. Some of the books will have a short explanation of what the book is about or how it impacted their lives. I hope you enjoy this new feature.

The Happy Intercessor by Beni Johnson
This book really spoke to me. I was going through my mom’s library of books and this book jumped out at me. If you click on the Dunamis Purpose button on your right I mentioned how the Lord has called me to be an intercessor. Beni’s definition of an intercessor is “capturing the heartbeat of Heaven and declaring or praying that into my world. It’s true agreement with Heaven.” This book challenged me to pray even more and helped me see God’s design for prayer.

Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God, Revised and Expanded by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby, and Claude King
This book really helped me in my walk with Christ. There are 7 main things I learned from this book and I will mention 2 of them. The first is God speaks through the Holy Spirit, through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways. The second one is you must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what he is doing. Those 2 points really changed my life.

Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young
Jesus Calling is a devotion that really touched my life. Every morning it seemed like God was speaking directly to me. God always knows what I need before I ask. I highly encourage you to buy this book and kick off each day with the Lord.

23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese

Jesus Freaks: Stories of Those Who Stood for Jesus, the Ultimate Jesus Freaks by dc Talk

Christ the Healer by F. F. Bosworth

The Heavenly Man: The Remarkable True Story of Chinese Christian Brother Yun by Brother Yun and Paul Hattaway

Are you having money issues?

Saturday, 20. March 2010 8:21

Hello guys. My buddy Rob Sheveland(click here to watch his testimony) just sent me this email last night and as usual God is never late. As you will see Rob is fired up. If you are going through financial issues right now I challenge you to read Malachi 3:10 and go for it. God’s storehouses are never empty!

Rob Sheveland

THIS STORY IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHAT YOU CAN’T GET WITH ANY OTHER FALSE GODS, RELIGIONS, BUDDHA, ZEN, ETC., ETC., ETC. MY WIFE HAD CALLED ME A WEEK AGO THURSDAY IN THE AFTERNOON AND I MISSED HER. I CALLED HER BACK AT 3:30PM AND SHE ASKED ME IF I HAD GOT THE MAIL THE PREVIOUS DAY. I RESPONDED “NO”. SHE THEN SAID SHE WAS SHOCKED THAT ‘THIS’ WAS STILL THERE (ANOTHER REASON WHY GOD IS WHO HE IS). ‘THIS’ WAS A BOX IN OUR MAILBOX THAT HAD NO RETURN ADDRESS AND LOOKED LIKE A BOX THAT CHECKS WOULD COME IN. SHE OPENED IT UP AND THERE WAS A PIECE OF PAPER WITH OUR NAMES ON THE TOP AND THEN THE VERSE, PHILLIPIANS 4:6- “DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD.

THIS PAPER HAD A RUBBER BAND AROUND IT ALONG WITH A WAD OF $100 BILLS. MY WIFE AT FIRST THOUGHT THEY WERE ‘ $20 BILLS, BUT AFTER LOOKING CLOSELY, SHE WAS SHOCKED THEY WERE $100 BILLS. SHE COUNTED THEM AND IT TOTALED $2000.00!!!! OUR GOD, THE ONE THAT DIED FOR YOU AND ME, THE ONE THAT CREATED THE UNIVERSE, ALL LIVING BEINGS, DAY, NIGHT, THE OCEANS, AND ALL LAND, WHOM DESIRES TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU AND ME, WHO FORGIVES, LOVES UNCONDITIONALLY, AND PROMISES US ETERNAL LIFE, PROVIDED FOR ME AND MY FAMILY FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME!! WHAT MORE DOES JESUS HAVE TO DO TO GET OUR ATTENTION BASED ON EXAMPLES LIKE THIS? MY WIFE AND I DON’T TELL PEOPLE ABOUT OUR FINANCIAL WOES; YET, SOMEONE, SOME FAMILY, WAS SPOKEN TO BY GOD TO SEND US A MONETARY GIFT THAT COULDN’T HAVE COME AT A BETTER TIME. IS THIS COINCIDENCE? IS THIS LUCK? NO!!!! THIS IS GOD. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS EVERLASTING PROMISE THAT HE WILL ALWAYS PROVIDE, ALWAYS UPLIFT US, AND ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF US.
