This morning I have been reflecting on all that I am thankful for. As many of you know I am a Functional Medicine Specialist and teach people how to eat properly among other things and I just finished eating free range, organic eggs with organic apple for breakfast. I am so thankful that I can eat the foods God intended us to eat when he created the world and fuel my body properly. I am also thankful for that eventhough I am still single and want to have a family one day I am so thankful that I can go to my parents house today to watch football and eat tasty food all day long.
Dad I am so thankful for you. You are my idol and I look up to you in every way. You are such a Godly man who I respect more then anyone. You taught me how to work hard and expect nothing in return, you modeled for me how to treat a woman and be the rock of a family. You taught me to be a servant and I know there will be many crowns in Heaven for you for all that you have done. You have supported me in everything I do and encouraged me in all my ups and downs in life. I have watched you grow closer and closer to the Lord and I can’t wait to see where he is going to guide you next and how he is going to use your gifts for the Kingdom. I love you dad.
Mom, I always say I want to marry someone just like you. You are such a Godly woman and such a caring and loving person. Your heart is to tender and loving and you are a prayer warrior for many. You are so strong and such a leader. Thank you for always being there for me as I know I have not been easy all these years. Your support is priceless and I love you.
Melanie(my sister) I love you so much. I am so glad we have such a good relationship and I am so happy that you have John and your awesome life up in Washington. You are such a blessing to me and thank you for your continued prayers and support for me all these years. You are a Godly woman who is such a light to many.
Now that I have all that mushy stuff out of the way I was re-arranging my apartment yesterday and came across a 5 week teaching called the “purposefull single man” from Saddleback Church. As you know getting married is the desire of my heart so I had to laugh for a minute. Last night right before I want to bed I had my quiet time with the Lord. I opened up the booklet and of course the very first word on the first page was “SURRENDER.” I was cracking up but new that word was just what I needed to hear. I am someone who likes to control things so I am learning to surrender all things, career, relationships, health, talents, money and everything else. I know that when I surrender I let God do his thing with me and I know his way will be amazing. I just need to get out of the way.
With that said let’s all surrender whatever is getting in the way of all that He has for us and be thankful for right where we are at. Even if you are in a valley right now there are still things to be thankful for no matter how small. Make a conscious effort today where ever you go to point out things you are thankful for and enjoy this day.
Neal
p.s.-I am very thankful for all of you for your daily support and prayer for Neal To The Cross. You are all much appreciated and eventhough I will not meet all of you in person I will meet all of you in Heaven one day and we can see how the Lord through you saved and healed thousands.
