Living By The Spirit’s Power

Monday, 9. April 2012 18:53

I just had a rad 15 minute quiet time with the Lord. I felt a heavy presence of the Holy Spirit and I just started to pray, and pray, and pray, and pray. Next thing I know 15 minutes went by and I know that powerful things were happening that I could not see but I believe were happening in peoples lives at that moment or in the near future. Many people, topics, and areas of the world came to my mind. The prayer session reminded me of the my quiet time last night where I was reading Galations 5:16-26. Living by the Spirit’s Power. I had no idea what the Holy Spirit was all about until I asked Jesus into my heart as Lord and Savior in 1996. Once you ask Jesus into your heart then the Holy Spirit comes into you. I know that sounds crazy but you will never fully know until you start a personal relationship with the King of kings.

If you are reading this today or in the future, you are all prayed up so expect God to show up in a big way in your life. Read the verses below and let them sink in deep.

Galatians 5:16-26
New Living Translation (NLT)
Living by the Spirit’s Power

16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

Matthw 28 The Resurrection
1 Early on Sunday morning,[a] as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

5 Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”

8 The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. 9 And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

The Report of the Guard
11 As the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the leading priests what had happened. 12 A meeting with the elders was called, and they decided to give the soldiers a large bribe. 13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’ 14 If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.” 15 So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.

The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Rest and Prayer Please

Saturday, 7. April 2012 15:59

What a lazy Saturday I am having. I hope this day finds you doing well. I am finally on spring break from teaching physical education and I am worn out. I just woke up from a 2 hour nap. Then I went out back and watered my plants and after a little study time and website business I am going to engage in a nice 20 minute tai-chi session. Today is all about ‘working-in” after a long week of teaching, being on my feet, and training. I can’t do what I do with my students and clients if I don’t take alot of me time, to rest, recharge, and get my mind and body right.

Please pray for me as I rest over the coming week. Pray I can really press into the Lord and hear what He is saying to me and where He is guiding me. A friend of mine yesterday said the Lord had given her to words that really spoke to her. The first word was “wait” and the second word was “lead.” So powerful and those words spoke to me as well. We all have to be stewards of what we have been given in this moment and be leaders through what we say and do so others will see that we are different and want to know why.

Please let me know how I can pray for you. I am ready to pray without ceasing.

Stature & Favor
Jesus grew in stature and favor first with God the Father and then received the favor of man. This was needed for Him to accomplish all that was set before him by the Father. There is a process that we must move in that brings us into maturity so that we can contain all that God wants to give us and do through us. When we circumvent the process it deprives our heavenly Father of teaching us and bringing us into His blessing in which we need to operate under His grace. We get out of order when we try and use our gifts, the structures of the church to operate where we haven’t quite grown into the vessel that can carry the fullness of Him that we need to live the abundant life.

Who is to grow in favor and stature with God and man? You, the beloved, are the children of His promises and the people of His inheritance. The Lord loves His processes because it requires us to be intimate with Him and gives Him a change to engage us on a level we never knew was even possible. We start off as infants receiving spiritual milk and we are to move on to solid food learning to live from heaven in the victories of Christ toward the earth. We develop fully into mature sons and daughters being prepared to rule and reign with Christ forever. We are joint heirs with Him by His plan. When you think of yourself as sheep, lay people, not spiritual, somehow lacking that God couldn’t raise you as a son or daughter you have displaced His plan for yours and given away your inheritance. Many man made systems have come into the body of Christ which has stunted our growth and brought about a spiritual deformity in us that God wants to heal. Many of the beloved are still moving in the same patterns as when they first met Him and are overwhelmed by their circumstances, the worries of life and are filled with anxiety and fear. The way we think about life and our circumstances as infants actually brings high levels of stress that we were never created to live in which is why we get sick and worn down and having little joy.

When we learn who Christ is and who He is for us in every circumstance that comes to us in this life and we overcome through His lordship we actually take on a new form which He has given us as His new creation in Him. His grace transforms us out of our old nature which is dead and brings us into our new nature in Christ which is alive forever and will never die. This is what it means to be more than a conquerer. We actually overcome all of our circumstances while having perfect peace, filled with joy, givers of life, representing the lovely One at all times and He makes us a pillar in His house and lavishes us with His love, its so incredible. The reason we see so little of this is because there are so few sons and daughters walking the earth that are going through the process of growing in favor and stature with God.

There is an invitation to grow up and leave the old things behind, there is always more to His kingdom there is no end to His goodness. His grace is looking to rest on those who want to become who they really are and leave the comfort of childhood and move into adulthood in Christ.

We meet to learn how to do these things and build one another up. We are going to have a wonderful time of outpouring and healing. Invite those who are sick, discouraged, worn out, joyless, tired, full of fear and anxiety for the Father will minster powerfully to those that believe on His son.

Above all else know that you are loved in extravagance in this life and the one to come, there is no end to the new you just more glory, beauty and expressions of joyful love throughout the ages.

How do we get saved? It’s similar to a wedding-ceremony. Both have to say YES to each other. At the cross of Calvary Jesus said YES to you – and He’s now waiting for your YES. Unless bride and groom say YES to each other marriage cannot take effect. And unless you give your YES to Jesus, salvation will never become real. It’s as important as that. Jesus also says “I will never leave you nor forsake you”, which means that once you have said YES to Him, He will be forever faithful – and He will never “divorce” you. God bless you today. Freedom From Drugs and Alcohol

Monday, 26. March 2012 17:19

Good evening people. 2 prayer requests for all of my prayer warriors. I have 2 X-students who are trying to kick drugs and are in a dark place. One is addicted to shooting heroin and one is trying to kick his marijuana habit. Corporate prayer is very powerful. Let’s do this. COME LORD!

Watch the video below of Brian Head Welch the x-guitarist from the band Korn. If he can kick drugs and alcohol so can you.

Psalm 23/Prayer Please

Saturday, 24. March 2012 8:00

Yesterday a co-workers father in law was murdered in Mexico so please pray for him, his wife and family during this tough time. On Thursday I went to dinner with a friend who lost his grandma the week before, and he brought me the brochure he created about his grandma Dorine to handout during the funeral. On the brochure was Psalm 23 one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. The next morning I woke up and reached for my Bible to read and have my quiet time with the Lord and since it was March 23, I realized that I would be reading Psalm 23 as I have been reading one chapter a day following the dates of the month. I thought this chapter was very timely for my co-worker who lost his father in law. Please read the words below and let them sink in deep. The Lord is all the comfort we need.

Neal

Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever.

18 Stand For Jesus

Saturday, 17. March 2012 9:02

What’s up everyone? Good Saturday to you all. I was texting with my boy Jared Hall(Fellowship Of Christian Athletes) this week and he told me 18 students at Northwood High School stood for Jesus when the guest speaker asked if anyone would like to ask Jesus into their heart as Lord and Savior. That is truly amazing and brave as standing in front of a couple hundred students can be intimidating. Please join with me in praying form them to really press into the Lord and build a personal relationship with the King of kings.

I have been praying for revival in the youth of Orange County and across the world for quite sometime. HOLY SPIRIT COME and do a mighty work! Please let me know how I can pray for you. I am ready to pray and press in 24 hours a day.

I Am Leading You Step By Step

Tuesday, 13. March 2012 9:07

Below is a quick passage from my daily devotion “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young. It really kicked my butt as recently I have thinking about the future in many ways and was freaking out a bit. I know God will show me the next step forward, and the next, and the next. I am trying to surrender a couple areas in my life. So God I surrender in this moment. I want your way. Amen.

Neal

p.s.-let me know how I can pray for you.

“When you try to figure out the future, you are grasping at things that are Mine. This, like all forms of worry, is an act of REBELLION: doubting My promises to care for you.” pg. 59
